Global Connections Program

The program fosters globally-minded students rooted in Mercy Catholic values, empowering young women to excel academically, 领导伦理, and engage compassionately. Through academics, cross-cultural exploration, 和服务, we cultivate curiosity, 理解, and a commitment to social justice. Global Connections graduates will be agents of positive change, ready to tackle the world's challenges with knowledge, 技能, 和共鸣.

所有年

• Maintain a minimum general average of 92 for the remainder of their time at GMA.
• Maintain active participation in Model UN.
• Meet with the Program Chair once per cycle.

Meet Course and Experiential Learning Requirements:

Mandatory Courses

• 4 years of a single World Language, AP Environmental 科学, AP Language and Composition, 美联社研讨会, Global-designated 社会研究 Course

• AP Comparative Government, H Global Horizons, Global Fiber 艺术, AP Human Geography, Economics and Entrepreneurship

Required Experiential Learning

• Model UN Participation
• Globally-focused Service-Learning

Suggested Experiential Learning

• Globally-focused Externship
• Participation in Diversity Club, AAPI, Black Alliance Club, 仁慈的效果, Foreign Film Club, Travel and Service Trips

 

大学二年级

• Written research project proposal by the end of sophomore year to advance in the program. Identify an essential question and potential research resources. Investigate internship and Service-Learning opportunities to support your Senior action-research project.

大三

• Complete an outside-of-school Global-related Service-Learning (before the fall of Senior year).

大四

• Complete Senior research project and portfolio to be graded according to a rubric.
• End-of-year project presentation to graduate as a Global Connections student.

毕业

• Passing students will receive a special distinction upon graduation.
• Earn an extra half credit for the completion of the Senior Global Action-Research Project and the culminating Portfolio highlighting cross-cultural and global co-curricular experiences, experiential learning & 课程.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Complete All Application Requirements by Monday, March 25, 2024
